5 Fall TV + Beverage Experiences

By: Paige Whitaker, Art Director

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. FALL. Who doesn’t love a trip to the pumpkin patch, a nice bonfire with your pals, or a lively tailgate at your alma mater?

I think that arguably the best part of this season is watching Halloween and fall movies...and then pairing them with beverages. So here are my own traditional fall favorite TV experiences paired with my favorite fall drinks.

Mulled Wine + Hocus Pocus

If you don’t watch Hocus Pocus every year, I have nothing to say to you other than WHY NOT? I’ve watched this every year since I was a kid and the Sanderson sisters are my absolute favorites. It’s entertaining, suspenseful, and lovable. This is the best Halloween movie, hands down. Pair it with some mulled wine for an extra witchy feeling. Gimme Some Oven has a great recipe to follow.

Pumpkin Spice Latte + Gilmore Girls Season 1

THERE IS NOTHING MORE FALL THAN GILMORE GIRLS. The town, the colors, the music…watching the first season of Gilmore Girls is absolutely the best way to get in the mood for fall. If you’ve seen the show, you know that there are gallons of coffee consumed in every episode. Hence the quote “I need coffee in an IV.” And while Rory and Lorelai only drink black coffee, they also eat more sweets than vegetables so I like to think they would approve of this pairing.

Hot Apple Cider & Fireball + Halloween

We’ve all seen the classic Halloween. Michael Myers is on the loose and the mom from Freaky Friday is the babysitter. Yes, Jamie Lee Curtis is known as the mom from Freaky Friday in my book. Personally, I need a harder drink for movies like Halloween, which is why I suggest a spiked hot cider. Fireball is the perfect mix-in!

Rhinegest Swizzle Cider + Boy Meets World Halloween Episode (And Then There Was Shawn)

If you have Disney+, you should probably watch this episode of Boy Meets World. It’s a CLASSIC. The gang gets stuck in detention with an unknown killer on the loose.. it’s the quintessential who dunnit. Have a Rhinegeist Swizzle, which is my favorite hard cider this season (lemongrass and ginger tastiness) and prepare for laughter and suspense.

Ash and Elm Dry Cider + Paranormal Activity

Okay, this is the scariest movie on the list and you will need alcohol for this. Woof. After watching this one, any weird noise in my house is cause for thorough investigation. IS THAT WHERE MY KEYS WERE 5 MINUTES AGO? WHY IS THAT DOOR CRACKED? SHOULD I BE RECORDING THIS MOMENT FOR PARANORMAL ACTIVITY SIX? Grab an Ash and Elm, locally made in Indianapolis, and get ready to have your head under a blanket for 2 hours.
