CARBON NEUTRAL INDIANA

Carbon Neutral Indiana (CNI) is a nonprofit social enterprise, and their mission is to help Indiana become carbon neutral as soon as possible. CNI helps households clean up their carbon footprints and shift culture so that it’s standard to be carbon neutral.

BACKGROUND

After CNI formed in 2020, Bohlsen Group partnered with founder, Daniel Poynter, to develop a strategy to increase awareness of CNI, as well as clearly communicate the concept of carbon neutrality within Indiana and regional communities.

OUR PROCESS

Step 1 - Messaging: Since carbon neutrality can be a tricky subject, Bohlsen Group worked closely with CNI to become experts and learn how to communicate effectively with target audiences and be the most impactful.

Step 2 - Tactics: Bohlsen Group worked with CNI to develop a ready-to-run introductory article as well as numerous pitches that helped effectively communicate the concept of carbon neutrality and how CNI is making it easy to make a positive impact on the environment.

Step 3 - Execute: Bohlsen Group dove in to really bring carbon neutrality knowledge to key targeted audiences in the Indianapolis DMA with a goal of future expansion into more Indiana markets.

Results

Garnered seven placements from earned media efforts leading to placement in prominent Indianapolis business publications such as Inside Indiana Business and Indianapolis Business Journal. 

Over 450,000 potential impressions were earned from local coverage.
