10 Things You Didn’t Know About Lauren Fiedler

Where are you from?

You’d think this would be an easy question, but I actually grew up in five different cities: Cincinnati, Detroit, Indianapolis, St. Louis and Chicago. Out of all the cities I have lived in, I chose to come back to Indy because I love that it has the small-town feel with all the big city amenities. It really feels like home. However, I will always be a St. Louis Cardinals fan.

What were you doing prior to Bohlsen Group?

Starting out, I worked in the restaurant industry as a Director of Marketing for five years and got first hand national media experience when the Super Bowl was in Indianapolis. Then, I worked at a few other agencies in Indianapolis, and one in Boston, before joining the Bohlsen team.

What do you like most about Bohlsen Group?

I love our flexible working environment and I genuinely enjoy being around everyone on our team. I am also so thankful that volunteering is such a significant part of Bohlsen Group’s mission and we are given the opportunity to volunteer each month.

What’s something about you that we wouldn’t be able to tell from your resume or LinkedIn page?

I have fostered over 80 animals for local rescues and shelters and I volunteer with IndyHumane once a week. Animal rescue is really a passion of mine and I have my own two rescue pups at home.  #adoptdontshop

What's your favorite podcast?

I am basically always listening to podcasts. While I’m driving, cleaning, mowing the grass...so I will list my top three faves: Crime Junkie, Morbid and Swindled. Basically, I love true crime.

When you aren’t at work where can we find you?

I love exploring new areas, even in my own neighborhood of Broad Ripple and around Indianapolis in general. My friends and I are always on the lookout for a new bar, restaurant or venue we can frequent. I also love doing do-it-yourself projects around my house.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

I wanted to be a second grade teacher. I set up a full-blown classroom in my parent’s basement growing up and taught the neighborhood kids. I also loved going to the teacher supply store to get more lesson plans and classroom decor. Eventually I took all that creativity and channeled it into marketing and advertising.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?

Pineapple pizza with a side of ranch from Puccini’s. The ranch has to be from Puccini’s.

Where is your favorite place you’ve ever traveled?

I love to travel so I’ve got a few. Barcelona, because the architecture is bomb and the people are so nice. Sydney, because there is so much to do and the accessibility of the city is so great; you can walk everywhere! Also, Auckland because the people were even NICER than in Barcelona, and they have cute mini-penguins that live on the beaches there.

If you were to be on a reality television show, which would it be?

The Bachelorette. No further comment is needed.
