Client: The Star Plaza Theater is a 3,400-seat theater in Merrillville, Ind. Star Plaza is responsible for bringing entertainment of all types to northern Indiana, and they bring events to Indianapolis from time to time. In June 2011, Star Plaza brought The Monkees to both Merrillville and Indianapolis.

Challenge: When Star Plaza needed grassroots marketing, Live Nation/Old National Center referred them to Bohlsen Group. The event was The Monkees’ 45th Anniversary Tour stop in Indianapolis. We were charged with identifying outlets for promotion that related to The Monkees’ core demographic in 2011. We needed to accurately document all street team progress and keep Star Plaza looped in with frequent status updates.
 
Solution: At Bohlsen Group, we take pride in our ability to find talented, driven individuals to get their hands dirty with us. We developed our team through social media and personal relationships, then created systems to manage and track all team activity to ensure the highest quality for our clients. Our street team is able to identify highly relevant locations that closely align with the target demographics of our clients’ events and products. The secret to our success is a team of driven, effective, reliable and personable individuals who literally walk or drive the extra mile for every client.

Results: The Bohlsen Group grassroots marketing team identified and distributed printed promotional materials to 60 relevant locations in the Indianapolis area. We documented promotional progress with spreadsheets confirming location drops and dates and took photos to support all documentation. The turnout to the event exceeded the client’s expectations.
