Client: Paul Christopherson, Author Solutions author, is a former Wall Street analyst
at Bear Stearns and Kidder, Peabody & Co. In 1992, he co-founded New Vernon Associates, an institutional equity research firm, leaving as chairman in 2008.
In his book Pants On Fire: Cutting Through the Biggest Lies of 21st Century American Plutocracy, he ties America’s economic downfall to what he calls “big-money lies.” He examines the fundamentals needed to restore democracy and outlines the seven key lies he says are governing the nation.
Challenge: With increased partisanship among politicians in Washington, the blame for economic hardship constantly shifts from one party to the next. For his book’s publicity campaign, Christopherson wanted to blur party lines and demonstrate the overall role that purposeful lying by government and corporate executives plays in society. His aim is to pose solutions to current investment challenges.
Solution: Timing was key to our success. Scheduled to last from late 2010 into early 2011, the author’s campaign coincided with elections and the change of party leadership in the House of Representatives. Bohlsen Group capitalized on this by notifying media of Christopherson’s availability for interviews.
