Design Intern

POSITION OVERVIEW

Design Interns have a desire to increase their expertise in tactical areas, especially relating to visual design, concepting, and creative strategy. Interns work directly with the Creative Director to create eye-catching visuals for various mediums, including digital and print.

This internship is a hybrid role in Indianapolis, IN , and the intern will be paid $10 per hour for up to 20-22 hours per week. Applicants must be able to commit to one day (Tuesdays) in-person in Indianapolis each week.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current enrollment in/recent graduation from a college or university studying visual communication, graphic arts, media arts and science or another related field - OR - relevant experience

  • Grasp of basic creative design concepts with a strong working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop - After Effects, Premiere, and Procreate are a plus

  • Passionate, driven, and excited to learn all aspects of the industry

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines

  • Ideal candidates have some experience following brand guidelines, creating  social media content, and designing for print media  with a willingness to learn and develop new skills - Illustration skills, video, or animation experience is a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with team in order to deliver creative solutions for clients with multiple different styles

  • Assist in conceptualizing and designing various client materials such as social media content, digital display ads, webpages, presentations, strategic plans, etc.

  • Assist with internal projects such as social media content, branding efforts, and laying out internal documents

  • Take direction and correctly interpret brand standards

  • Observe/participate in client meetings, brainstorming sessions, and conference calls as needed

  • Meet fluid deadlines while working in a team setting

GENERAL AGENCY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in various team meetings on a regular basis to assess and contribute

  • Contribute to the writing of blogs, case studies, and other agency materials for the Bohlsen Group website and social media outreach

  • Uphold Bohlsen Group’s commitment to being a socially responsible and environmentally sustainable business by participating in company-wide recycling and voluntary health and wellness programs, if desired
