We’ve got spirit, yes we do

We here at BohlsenPR don’t mind a little drool on our chairs. Especially when it comes to supporting one of our local sports teams.

Just how did THIS happen?

"Come one, come all,” we said, “to the BohlsenPR open house!” And by said, we mean tweeted.

“Are dogs allowed at open houses?” tweeted @ButlerBlue2. We said, “Of course,” (and truth be told, we’d always make an exception for Blue).

Actually, BohlsenPR might be a little biased; three staffers call Butler their alma mater.

So needless to say, it’s been an emotional rollercoaster around the office these past few weeks. But win or lose, know this: We wouldn’t let just any mascot take over the boss’s throne.

Go Blue.

The brain trust behind BohlsenPR

BohlsenPR's very own Vicki Bohlsen is featured in this week's Indianapolis Business Journal's "Leading Questions: Wisdom from the Corner Office" column that highlights central Indiana's business community leaders.

In the feature, Bohlsen discusses her personal road to success beginning when she hung out her shingle on Feb. 12, 2010. She also shares her role in building the 13-employee company from the ground up and delves into the difficult decisions a small-business owner faces daily.

OH BohlsenPR 2011

Last night we celebrated the one-year anniversary of BohlsenPR with an Open House. In an incredibly fun evening with fabulous fellowship, we were excited to finally showcase the finished offices and tell stories about how three of us walked into the new office on the first day with our own card tables and chairs to work from.

We've come a long way. From building out the space to hiring more staff and growing our client list, we at BohlsenPR are truly grateful for everyone who supported us along the way.

Food was generously donated by Pearl Street Pub, Hard Rock Cafe, Ball & Biscuit and Scotty's Brewhouse, while Endangered Species Chocolate provided yummy samples of a few of its signature chocolates. Indy Photo Booths premiered its flip books and, as guests tested the signature cocktail created by Suzanne Rockwell and drank beer from Sun King, that booth got a little busier. Thanks to each of you for your generosity!

Swag was donated by clients, and the winning recipients are being announced via Twitter throughout the day. Besides Author Solutions' book-a-month package, autographed Hot Rod: All the Covers books and vintage wall hangings, and tickets to various client events, everyone is waiting to see if they'll win the iPad.

Will it be you?

They have an app for you

A small, downtown digital marketing firm has found a niche in the ever-changing world of technology: Boost Media & Entertainment is developing software applications for smart phones.

To get publicity for Boost, we targeted Indiana business publications, including the Indianapolis Business Journal, which we knew would be interested in Boost's rapid growth and innovation in the mobile apps arena. Boost (@boostmedia) has designed about a dozen apps within the past year.

Its latest creation, one targeting independent radio stations, “may catapult the company into the national spotlight,” says Scott Olsen of the IBJ.

Boost's MyStation App struck a chord with rock station WTTS-FM 92.3 in Bloomington, Ind. They signed on as the first client and racked up 1,500 downloads from listeners in one week.

We reached out to managers and producers in the radio industry to generate some buzz and, hopefully, some new business prospects. Radio industry website Radio World is broadcasting Boost’s story loud and clear.
