Historic Cincinnati theatre heads in new direction

A downtown Cincinnati landmark built in 1928, the historic 2,500-seat Taft Theatre, has undergone major renovations over the last year, essentially becoming two performance venues.

The historic and well-known upstairs theatre now has a refreshed downstairs space known as The Ballroom. Hosting a number of up-and-coming acts and national talent, The Ballroom lends itself to a club-type feel, which is reflected in everything from the musical acts, affordability and smaller capacity.

Bohlsen Group has been working with the Taft Theatre to raise awareness about the new changes and the re-energized space that has created a new hub for live music in Cincinnati and promises strong economic impact in the community. In addition to interviews with WLW-AM and WVXU-FM Around Cincinnati, coverage has included:

IPSEF blazing thru nonprofit 'March Madness'

The team at the IPS Education Foundation is still going strong in the city’s Brackets for Good competition.

The contest for nonprofits works just like an NCAA March Madness bracket: The nonprofit earning the most donations each round advances to the next. Every $1 donation to the Foundation equals a point on the scoreboard. Donation totals reset every Sunday at midnight, but organizations keep all the money they earn during voting.

And ... the overall winner also takes home an extra $5,000 from Brackets for Good!

The IPSEF took the first round with 1,145 points/dollars. The second round ends March 18 at midnight.

It’s easy to donate to IPS Education Foundation at the contest’s online bracket page: http://indianapolis.bracketsforgood.org.

Good luck to all the nonprofits in the competition! And thanks to everyone who has supported their efforts. Every dollar (and vote) helps.

The team at the IPS Education Foundation is in the thick of its own version of March Madness with a chance to take home thousands in donations.

The Indianapolis nonprofit is one of 16 organizations competing in the city’s Brackets for Good competition.

The contest works just like an NCAA bracket: The nonprofit earning the most donations each round advances to the next. Every $1 donation to the Foundation equals a point on the scoreboard. Donation totals reset with each new round, but organizations keep all the money they earn during voting.

Not only do the nonprofits keep the donations they earn along the way, but the overall winner also takes home an extra $5,000 from Brackets for Good.

It’s easy to donate to IPS Education Foundation at the contest’s online bracket page: http://indianapolis.bracketsforgood.org.

Chicago Auto Show draws broad media coverage

It's a tricky business, persuading one media outlet to cover another. But that's what Bohlsen Group does for client Source Interlink Media, most recently at the Chicago Auto Show this month.

More than 100 years old, it's the largest auto show in North America and is produced by the Chicago Automobile Trade Association, the nation’s oldest and largest metropolitan dealer organization. Bohlsen Group pitched writers and editors from Source publications -- Motor TrendAutomobile, Truck Trend and more -- as industry experts who could provide insight into the year ahead, preview the show and weigh in on new trends and products, including a new system designed to stop distracted driving.

And the media was interested. In addition to interviews secured with Auto World Radio and Fox Business News, coverage included:

Wall Street Journal MarketWatch
